By sealing problem areas in timber, it helps achieve a more uniform and reliable final finish.
This patent knotting is applied directly to bare wood, with one to two coats recommended and adequate drying time allowed between coats. When the treated area is to be over-coated with a water-based product, the solution should be applied more sparingly, and the surface lightly abraded once dry to provide a suitable key for the next layer. This ensures good adhesion and compatibility with subsequent finishes. After use, brushes and equipment should be cleaned using Douglas Methylated Spirits.
